Richmond’s victory in Round one of the Team App Cup against Brighton has secured a reputable position for the team. Due to strong defense and offence strategies Richmond defeated Brighton with a 3-0 lead.
Two goals to Julie Aspaas-Tyrer and a stunner from Alana Musolino capped off a fine performance by Richmond. It was an efficient display from start to finish, with Richmond in control for the majority of the contest.
Debut Senior Coach Tomasz Ng expressed his satisfaction regarding application of techniques acquired during training sessions which reflected in their performance at the game. He quoted saying that “It was also really pleasing to get our first clean sheet in a competitive fixture for almost two years, an aspect of our game we have really tried to focus on”.
This staggering performance from Richmond’s end displays a promising start for the Team. Richmond hopes to keep up their winning pace as the Senior Women take on Melbourne University SC in Round 2 of the 2017 Team App Cup which will be held at Kevin Bartlett Reserve at 3pm on Sunday 2 March 2017.
