The Committee of Richmond SC 1953 are excited to announce the appointment of Sam Poutakidis as new Senior Head Coach for the 2018‎ season.

An FFA/AFC ‘B’ License holder, Poutakidis has established a successful coaching career to date.

Having won the inaugural National Premier Leagues Victoria Youth U20’s Championship with Oakleigh Cannons FC, his success was rewarded by being promoted to Senior Assistant Coach by Oakleigh Head Coach and former A-League Head Coach Miron Bleiberg.

In 2016, Poutakidis embarked on a Coaching Education year based in London where he attended numerous professional matches across Europe, spent one month at the Fulham FC Academy and spent one week at Dundee FC under the Management of former Scotland International and Celtic FC star Paul Hartley.

In 2017, Poutakidis formed a formidable Coaching partnership with close friend Marcus Stergiopoulos and lead Beaumaris SC to promotion and State League One Football for the first time in their history.

Poutakidis is quoted saying: “I’m very excited to embarked on this latest challenge and am ecstatic to have secured a role at a club where our philosophy, ambitions and goals are synced”.

Richmond SC 1953 would like to welcome Sam and wish him all the best for the 2018 season.
